Privacy Policy
Your privacy is important to us. It is ATS Pal's policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect from you across our website.
Last Updated: August 3, 2025
This Privacy Policy explains how ATS Pal ("We," "Us," or "Our") collects, uses, and discloses information about you ("User," "You") when you use our website and services (collectively, the "Service"). It should be read in conjunction with our Terms and Conditions.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information that is necessary to provide and improve our Service. This includes:
- Personal Identification Information: Your name and email address, provided during account creation or when contacting us.
- User Content: Your resume, cover letters, job descriptions, and any other documents or text you voluntarily submit to the Service.
- Transaction Information: Our third-party payment processor (e.g., Stripe) collects payment information when you purchase Credits. We do not store or have direct access to your full payment card details.
- Technical and Usage Data: We may automatically collect information about how you interact with our Service, such as your IP address, browser type, and pages visited.
1.1 Browser Extension Data Collection
When you use the ATS Pal Browser Extension ("Extension"), we collect specific data to seamlessly facilitate the resume optimization service directly on third-party job boards (e.g., LinkedIn, Indeed).
- Website Content (Scraping): The Extension accesses and extracts text from the job posting page you are currently viewing (e.g., Job Title, Company Name, Job Description). This data is processed to generate your tailored resume and is treated as User Content.
- Local Storage: We use your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local) to securely store your authentication token (to keep you logged in) and temporary drafts of your job applications. This data resides on your device.
- Host Permissions: The Extension interacts with specific domains (like *.linkedin.com) solely to identify job posts and facilitate features. We do not track your browsing history outside of these specific interactions initiated by you.
2. How We Use Your Information
We are committed to using your information responsibly. Our purposes for using your data are:
- To Provide and Maintain the Service: To operate our platform, process your documents, and manage your account and Credit balance.
- To Improve and Develop the Service: To conduct research, perform analysis, and develop new features and products. As outlined in our Terms and Conditions, this includes using User Content to train our proprietary artificial intelligence models.
- For Communication: To respond to your inquiries, send service-related announcements, and provide customer support.
- For Security and Compliance: To protect against fraud, abuse, and to comply with legal obligations.
3. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services
We do not sell your personal information. However, to deliver our Service, we may share your information with trusted third-party vendors for essential functions, such as:
- Cloud Infrastructure: For hosting our platform and storing your data (e.g., Google Cloud, AWS).
- AI Model Providers: For processing and analyzing the documents you submit.
- Payment Processors: For securely handling financial transactions.
We share only the necessary information with these third parties and do so in accordance with this Privacy Policy and our Terms and Conditions.
4. Data Retention and Anonymization
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Service. Upon account termination, we will take steps to delete or de-identify your personal data, such as your name and email address.
However, as stated in our Terms and Conditions, we retain a perpetual license to use your User Content in an anonymized and aggregated form for the ongoing purpose of training our AI models and for statistical analysis. This anonymized data is stripped of personal identifiers and cannot be reasonably used to identify you.
5. Your Data Protection Rights
Depending on your location (such as the EEA), you may have certain rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or delete your information. To make such a request, please contact us. We will respond to reasonable requests in accordance with applicable law.
6. Children's Privacy
Our Service is not intended for individuals under the age of 18, in accordance with our Terms and Conditions. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately.
7. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate and personalize our website. These are essential for functions like keeping you logged in and remembering your preferences. We use this data for standard website analytics and functionality, not for cross-site tracking.
